The 2022 Outback Air Race provides Innovaero the opportunity to express their ongoing support for the Royal Flying Doctors Service, an iconic Australian charity that has made an unparalleled contribution to providing vital medical outreach to rural and remote Australian communities.
Participating in this year’s air race is Innovaero Team Black Opal comprising pilots Mike von Bertouch and Dave Chappell flying the Boeing Stearman VH-PJS aircraft of World War II vintage. They will be shadowed by fellow team Black Opal member and pilot, Dylan Ewart, who is flying the team’s Cirrus SR22 support aircraft and responsible for team maintenance and engineering.
All proceeds raised go directly to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, hence Team Black Opal is seeking to garner as many donations as possible for this philanthropic endeavour.
