We are proud to announce that Innovaero is sponsoring Sydney UAV Engineering (SUAVE), a leading student society at the University of Sydney that focuses on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Sydney UAV Engineering (SUAVE) is dedicated to the promotion, exposure, and innovation in the dynamic field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
They are currently working on building their own autopilot software, while implementing it into a basic drone-frame.
Activities and projects
SUAVE runs two amazing projects that showcase their skills and passion for UAVs.
One of them is Project FASTR, which aims to create an autonomous racing drone that can follow flight paths and read gate codes.
The other project is the University of Sydney Design Build Fly Team (USYD DBF), which competes in the annual Design Build Fly competition hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Visiting Innovaero in Perth
The team has just returned from the 2023 Fly-Off in Tucson, Arizona, where they ranked first among all teams from the Asia-Pacific region and all newcomer teams. They are working hard to achieve the top position globally in the 2023/24 season.
The team visited Innovaero headquarters in Perth earlier this year, to see how Innovaero is advancing future-defining technologies in the field of UAVs.
The future growth and development of Australia’s capabilities in the growing field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles depends on the availability of future engineering graduates with relevant domain experience. SUAVE is a great incubator for potential future talent.
We thank SUAVE for providing INNOVAERO this opportunity to help students advance in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and we look forward to building a mutually beneficial partnership.
