Innovaero hosts Deputy Premier of Western Australia, Hon Roger Cook MLA, accompanied by Hon Terry Healy MLA and Ms Kim Giddens MLA

Innovaero was thrilled to have an opportunity to host three prominent WA government members led by the State Member for Kwinana, the Hon Roger Cook MLA. He has the substantial roles of Deputy Premier; Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade; Hydrogen Industry; Tourism and Science. Accompanying the Deputy Premier was the Member for Southern River, the Hon Terry Healy MLA, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of Police, Road Safety, Defence Industry and Veterans Issues, and the Member for Bateman, Ms Kim Giddens MLA,

It was fantastic to have the chance to exhibit and discuss the range of Innovaero’s crewed and uncrewed aeronautical products, of course including some making a significant contribution to the people of Western Australia:

• manufacturing modifications for the CHC Helicopters’ emergency services helicopters to serve the WA community,
• the FIREHAWK 110 kg uncrewed aircraft system for the Marlee Djinda indigenous organisation to be used in land management and environmental monitoring activities,
• and the exciting opportunity for a new Aerospace Manufacturing and Training Centre at Jandakot being developed by Innovaero with the assistance of TAFE and other partners.

On a national/international scale, the Deputy Premier and guests were introduced to the substantial R&D being undertaken by Innovaero for a new generation of extremely capable loitering platforms under contract to the ADF, and some of the exciting large optionally-piloted and unmanned systems being developed in conjunction with several large international and Australian aerospace organisations. The projects discussed included the expected imminent export order of Australian-developed uncrewed systems to a near-neighbour in the Indo-Pacific region.

During the tour, Innovaero’s award-winning team were able to discuss the incredible opportunities available to WA industry in large-scale aerospace airframe manufacturing projects, from the very small through to large manned aircraft.
